Before you can post a listing on here, we require you to read our rules and guidelines thoroughly.
Thank you for showing interest in joining the WhatToy Marketplace for buying, selling and trading new and used sex toys. We would like you to take a moment to read this entire page carefully, not only for your safety but for the safety of others using this platform.
Any user caught breaking any of the rules will be banned from the website entirely, not just from the marketplace. We take this place very seriously, we hope you will as well. If you have any questions regarding anything listed here, please reach out to us before posting to avoid any potential issues.
And remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
The marketplace was made because there is no real place online for buying or selling unwanted sex toys, safely and anonymously. We want to create a secure place for people to trade their new, or used, sex toys without worrying about any potential threats.
First and foremost, it should seem obvious, but we, WhatToy, take no responsibility for any trades users decide to make on the platform. We have a long list of guidelines and rules, have moderators constantly checking the community, and have dispute processing features on the platform; nevertheless, we are not middle-men, we are not brokers, we simply provide the service for two individuals to find each other, nothing else. If a trade goes badly, it is out of our hands, we will do the best to help but it is not our responsibility, please keep this in mind.
We want to make it very clear when it comes to used sex toys, they should always be thoroughly washed and cleaned before selling them. We will not tolerate any disgusting, broken, or old products on here. Furthermore, make sure that the toy is made of body safe materials only. This means, any product that contains PVC, jellies or anything of that nature is strictly forbidden to be sold (unless it's sealed new with receipts). Silicone, stainless steel, aluminium, those kinds of materials are fine as they can be cleaned and disinfected. Please note, TPE/TPR is allowed, but buyers be wary as they are porous and impossible to fully sterilize, this includes Fleshlights (the brand, not any old generic masturbator), Tengas, etc. They are body-safe, but will hold onto mold and bacteria from the previous user.
If you are posting a listing for a toy you are selling or trading, you must include a photo of said product, with a piece of paper with your WhatToy username and the date on it.
Additionally, if you are selling a used sex toy (that's made of body-safe materials) you must include a photo of the cleaning process of said toy.
Product images, stock photos, are not exceptions to this rule, you can add them to help with the sale, but at least one of your photos must be of the actual product you own.
This includes gifs or videos, we do not want to see you using the toy. That'll get you a nice instant ban. This is not a place for pornography.
Make sure you add all information about your toy, including (but not limited to): Where/how you got it, why you are selling it, size, price, location (country), if used: how you cleaned it, how long you've had it for, etc.
If you have questions regarding a product for sale, add a reply to the listing, instead of messaging the user privately. Maybe someone else will have the same question. Furthermore, it helps keep things transparent.
Before posting a WTB (Want To Buy) listing, please use the search function, you never know if someone has already listed it.
This marketplace is for private users only, if you are a store owner, please check out our Information for Stores page for details on how you can get your store listed on WhatToy.
If a user messages you privately offering to sell you a toy, do not accept. We require all users that want to sell or trade their toy(s) to make a listing, even if it's in response to a WTB (Want To Buy) listing. We, as moderators, do not have direct access to private messages, we can not protect you from scammers this way. Report any user that attempts to sell you something that hasn't got a listing, or if they try to direct you to an external website or alternative mode of communication (so there wouldn't be proof on WhatToy..)
We have designed a unique process to track sales, called Contracts. After two users have come to an agreement for a sale or trade, one user simply has to initiate a Contract, within which they select the target listing to include in the contract. If it's a trade, they would include both their and the other user's listing in the contract.
Why use contracts? It's an easy way for WhatToy to track the status of a listing. Once the seller of a listing has accepted a contract from a buyer for example, the listing goes into "Sold" status. If by some reason the sale falls through (if the buyer doesn't pay for example) then the seller can mark the contract as void, giving the buyer a bad reputation and re-listing the original toy back for sale.
If a sale goes through correctly, and both parties are happy, they can close the contract and rate each other. This helps future buyers see how trustworthy a seller is.
If a user is interested in purchasing one or multiple of your toys, start discussing openly in your post and confirm they are going to buy, once decided you are going to sell, open a Contract so you can exchange private information, and talk in private.
Please do not put your personal information out in the public forum space. Do not share mobile numbers, emails, addresses on the forums or marketplace.
Once both users have signed a contract, the next step would be payment (if it's a sale, and not a trade of course). Users may use any payment service they like, just be aware some services do not provide buyer (or seller) protection. For that reason, we recommend using PayPal.
Always use a PayPal invoice, this has proven to be the best and safest way to handle payments, whether shipping is included, etc. If someone doesn't send you an invoice, don't send them your money. If someone sends you money outside of an invoice, refund them and send them an invoice. This protects both the buyer and the seller.
When using PayPal there are two options you will be greeted with one is send using Goods and Services, this adds protection to both the seller and buyer in case a conflict happens. The other is Friends and Family, this is used for sending between friends and family, we encourage users here to never use Friends and Family protection does not get added to either party, you will not be able to receive a refund or dispute if something happens or you get scammed.
When describing your toys in a invoice, if needed, just put "Sculpture" or something similar. PayPal does not like things of a sexual nature. Also, you are not allowed to make the buyer pay the fees, that's against PayPal's Terms of Service. As the seller it's your responsibility.
If you choose not to use PayPal, make sure you follow the same basic guidelines to protect yourself whether you're the seller or the buyer.
Personal recommendations for packaging are using a ziplock type bag to protect the toy from moisture and anything that could get on the toy in transit, using bubble wrap or packing paper is another way, other options are using clean new trash bags or plastic bags.
After both the seller and buyer have agreed via a Contract and completed an invoice (if payment is to be made), please try to ship the toy out within 48 hours.
As a seller, please ship your toys in a smart and timely manner. Nobody wants to wait weeks for their toy to be shipped out.
As the seller make sure you get a tracking number to the buyer as soon as you ship out the package. If you do not do so, the buyer could get worried and initiate a dispute.
Shipping can be with any courier you choose. However, you need to get a tracking number that works. No fake tracking numbers, have either a receipt or actual picture of the box before send off to prove that you indeed ship it. You need to add tracking info to your Contract, and PayPal transactions (if applicable) to alert the buyer that you have shipped it and so that the buyer can be covered.
Regardless of how hard we try to make this a safe place, there will always be people who are out there scamming others. We ask you to not be scared, don't get forced into selling anything, and use common sense.
If the account is less than a month old, be very careful. If the account has no information on their profile, be careful. You do not have to agree to any Contract you do not feel good about.
Of course, if the seller is a brand new user, but seems trustworthy, and you have a lot of reputation on WhatToy, you can always ask them to ship first for example and pay on delivery (in that case, don't be a sausage and scam them instead...)
All listings with no activity for 3 months will be archived unless the user who made the listing re-activates it.
We have an archive where you can look up old sales and wanted posts, in case you need to access them for any disputes or problems that arise later.
No PVC, jellies or anything of that nature. TPE/TPR allowed with disclaimer, but keep in mind they are porous and impossible to properly sterilize. This includes things like Fleshlight and Tenga, which are body safe but they will hold onto mold and bacteria from the previous user.
The item, and a piece of paper with your username written on it in the same photo, to verify that you do in fact have the item. This is to increase buyer safety and prevent scams. Please do not include your genitals in the photo verification.
You're welcome to post those to other, relevant subreddits and mention them in the comments, but this is about selling sex toys, not sharing pornography. There are plenty of great subs for that, this is not one of them.
Only you are allowed to sell your own toys. Not for a friend, or anyone else. There are no exceptions to this rule.
We need to know who made it to verify material safety and also for pricing.
If you are a professional, store or shop please contact us to get your store added to our Stores list, this marketplace is for private users only.
Do not hijack someone's listing to sell your own stuff or derail it with anything off topic (unless it's a want-to-buy listing of course). Please make your own listing.
